Where does Reishi come from and why is it so special?

Reishi, scientifically known as Ganoderma lucidum, grows on deciduous trees such as oaks and maples in the forests of Asia, North America, and Europe. It has been used in traditional culture for over 2,000 years, especially in China, where it is known as "Lingzhi," meaning "mushroom of immortality"—a reference to its long history. Interestingly, Reishi is not a typical edible mushroom, as it is very hard and woody. Its shiny, lacquer-like coating makes it a real eye-catcher in nature. For consumption, it is dried and processed into a powder, as in our products.
